Decent Presentation..

I had a really tough time finding a presentation that was acceptable. This one covers the topic fairly well, and could serve as a nice quick reference to the topic. Some of the concepts introduced can be a little random, but the basics are covered.

Online Learning

I have taken quite a few online courses, and this experience is far different than any of the others. At Charter Oak, all classes are taken online, and their model had some aspects to it that were really nice. Most class interaction was based around collaborative member forums, so that the students were in almost constant contact with each other. It was an incredible boon for group projects and exploration of alternate viewpoints.
Where that model failed and this one excels, is in the amount of teacher presence. In those classes, the professor was an anonymous assignment dispensing cipher. It almost felt as if it was entirely automated at times. With this model, we are more in the realm of remote learning, and the interaction with Dr. Sponder takes a prime focus. This certainly aids in making it feel like a 'real' class as opposed to the alternatives.
